UNITED AIRLINES LAUNCHES FALL FARE SALE

United Airlines announced a new fare sale offering deep discounts for travel domestically through Dec. 15, 2001 and internationally through March 14, 2002.

These fares for leisure travelers, United's recently announced "Back-to-Business" fares, United's double miles promotion and reduced Mileage Plus award levels provide a cornucopia of travel options for our customers. Now is the time to return to the skies.

Customers who book through United's web site, United.com, are eligible for an additional 10 percent discount.

Tickets must be purchased by Oct. 8, 2001. There is a seven-day advance purchase requirement accompanying these sale fares for domestic travel and travel to Canada. Blackout dates apply domestically around the popular Thanksgiving holiday travel period.

United Airlines offers nearly 1,900 flights a day to 130 destinations in 27 countries and two U.S. territories. DOMESTIC U.S./INTERNATIONAL FARE FACTS: Fares above are each way based on required roundtrip purchase for United Economy travel on United Airlines, United Shuttle and United Express carriers. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights/dates. Purchase Requirements: Tickets for Domestic U.S. & Canada destinations must be purchased at least 7 days in advance and within 24 hours of making reservations but no later than 10/08/01. Reservations and ticket purchases for international destinations must be completed simultaneously but no later than 10/08/01. Sale fares apply to U.S. point-of-sale only. Reservations and ticket purchases on united.com must be completed simultaneously. Travel Days/Dates: Domestic U.S. & Canada fares are valid for travel beginning 10/11/01 with travel complete by 12/15/01. Fares for international destinations are valid for Monday through Thursday travel October 4, 2001 through March 14, 2002. Fares for other days of the week are higher. Blackout Dates: Domestic U.S. & Canada travel is not permitted on 11/20/01, 11/21/01,11/25/01 or 11/26/01, except where noted below. Min./Max. Stay: A Saturday night stay is required and the maximum stay is 30 days, except where noted below. Additional Taxes/Fees: U.S. & Canada fares do not include a $2.75 per flight segment tax. A flight segment is defined as one takeoff and one landing. Hawaii and Alaska fares do not include a $6.40 (each way) federal excise tax. Fares do not include Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18, which may be collected depending on the itinerary. All international fares are subject to U.S. arrival and departure taxes and agricultural, immigrations and customs fees of up to $40. For travel to some countries, additional airport, transportation, embarkation, security, duty, equalization and passenger service taxes/surcharges of up to $48 will apply depending on destination. For return travel from some countries, fares do not include airport and/or departure taxes of up to $35, which may be collected by the foreign government. Itinerary Changes: Tickets are nonrefundable, but may be changed for a fee ($100 for domestic, $150 for international), provided the new itinerary is within the parameters of this offer, minimum and maximum stay requirements are met, and the origin and destination are not changed. For international tickets, only the return portion may be changed. Other Conditions: Fares are subject to change without notice. Other restrictions may apply. Some fares may require a one night minimum stay. Lower fares may be available to select destinations. Exceptions for Florida: Travel is not permitted 11/17/01, 11/18/01, 11/20/01, 11/21/01, 11/25/01, or 11/26/01. Exceptions for Hawaii: Fares require a 3 day minimum stay. The maximum stay is 30 days. Exceptions for Las Vegas, Reno, and certain Ski cities: A 2 night minimum stay is required. Exceptions for Domestic U.S. & Canada Thanksgiving Holiday Travel: For travel on or after November 18, 2001 and before November 21, 2001, return travel must commence no earlier than November 22, 2001 (Thanksgiving Day).
