Northwest's Summer Family Sale Offers Great Rates for Adults and Even Lower Companion Fares for the Kids

Northwest Airlines announced the launch of its Summer Family Sale, offering sizzling savings on air travel for adults and children.

"Northwest's Summer Family sale provides a great opportunity to think of summer and take advantage of great family savings throughout Northwest's vast domestic network of wonderful destinations," said Tom Bach, Northwest vice president domestic revenue management.

Travelers can get great savings on summer travel and bring along up to two child companions between the ages of 2 and 17 for as low as $49 each way based on roundtrip purchases. For North American travel, tickets must be purchased by March 30 for travel through September 13, 2001.

Through December 31, 2001 all WorldPerks members who purchase tickets through nwa.com for the first time will receive 4,000 Bonus Miles. All repeat customers will receive 1,000 Bonus Miles.

Purchase Requirements: Adult and child/companion (ages 2-17) fares shown are each way, based on a round-trip purchase in Coach Class. A 14-day advance purchase is required. Tickets must be purchased within 24 hours after reservations are made, or at least 14 days prior to departure, whichever comes first, but not later than March 30, 2001. Up to two child/companions allowed per paying adult. All passengers must confirm reservations, purchase tickets and check-in for flights at the same time. All passengers must travel together on the same flights on the same days.

Travel Dates: Fares shown are valid for travel through September 13, 2001.

Off-peak Days: Fares shown are valid for travel to most destinations from noon Monday through 11:59 a.m. Thursday. Sale fares for travel on days/times other than those specified are higher. Florida: Fares are valid for travel to Florida Sunday - Wednesday, from Florida Tuesday - Friday. Hawaii: Fares to Hawaii are valid for travel Monday through Wednesday. Fares from Hawaii are valid for travel Tuesday through Thursday. Mexico: Fares are valid for travel Monday through Thursday.

Min/Max Stay: Fares to most destinations require a Saturday night minimum stay. A 30-day maximum stay applies. Hawaii/Mexico: A 3-night minimum stay is required.

Additional Taxes/Fees: Passenger Facility Charges of up to a maximum of $18 roundtrip per person apply. Canada: Fares do not include federal immigration fees and departure taxes of up to $41 (USD). Mexico/Caribbean/Central America/South America: Fares do not include federal immigration/inspection fees, surcharges and taxes of up to $136.

Changes to Itinerary: Changes may be made prior to scheduled flights for a $100 administrative service fee. However, any change must meet the condition of the new fare purchased.

Other Conditions: Tickets are nonrefundable. Seats are limited and may not be available. Fares are subject to change. Some travel may be on other airlines. Fares may not be lower than already low fares to select destinations. Other restrictions may apply.

All flights beyond Amsterdam are operated by KLM or Alitalia. Tickets are nonrefundable. Seats are limited. Fares subject to change. Sale fares on days other than those specified are slightly higher. Fares require a Saturday-night stay, with a maximum stay of 30 days.

Most fares to Asia must be purchased by March 31, 2001 for travel between March 19, 2001 and June 23, 2001, and must be completed by June 30, 2001 (with the exception for travel to Manila, Taipei, Kaoshung and Bangkok. Travel is valid March 19 through May 31, 2001). Lowest fares apply Monday through Thursday. Travel is not permitted on Northwest's Minneapolis/St. Paul -- Tokyo non-stop flights. Terms and Conditions for 1,000 WorldPerks Online Bonus Miles

The 1,000 mile Online Booking Bonus offer is valid for WorldPerks members who purchase a ticket online October 16, 1998 to December 31, 2001 through Northwest Airlines WorldWeb Reservations. Offer is not valid with CyberSavers Reservations, E-Biz Perks Reservations or Award Travel Reservations. WorldPerks number must be given at time of reservations. Only one 1,000 mile bonus will be awarded for each reservation confirmation number. Please allow 4-6 weeks after travel time for miles to be credited to your account. Passenger must earn WorldPerks credited flight miles on qualifying itinerary to be eligible for bonus miles.
