Southwest Offers Baseball Opening Day Sale
DALLAS, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) hit one out of the park today, announcing a double-header of fare sales available only at http://www.southwest.com. In game one, Customers head to home plate with Anniversary Specials for only $30 one-way in 60 select markets. In game two, Customers round the bases with Click 'n Save Specials to any Southwest destination with fares of $99 or less one-way. Admission to both games can be purchased only at the airline's ballpark, http://www.southwest.com."It's a grand slam for summer travelers!" declared Joyce Rogge, Southwest's vice president of marketing.
"With Anniversary fares as low as $30 one-way, baseball fans can give their team the home-field advantage at anaway game."Southwest extended its $30 Anniversary one-way fares to 60 select markets, including some of the airline's most popular routes. For example, the fare is available on flights between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, between Austin and Dallas, between Chicago and St. Louis, and between Buffalo and Baltimore/Washington. Customers can find a complete list of Anniversary destinations online at http://www.southwest.com/hotfares/.The $30 one-way and $99 or less one-way fares are on sale now until midnight (PDT) on April 12 for travel beginning April 17. Travel on the $30 one-way fares must take place by May 23, and the travel on the $99 or less one-way fares must take place by Sept. 10. The fares are available for purchase only at http://www.southwest.com. These fares are combinable with any of Southwest's other fares, and if combined, the most restrictive fare's conditions apply. Tickets must be purchased at least seven days before departure. Fares do not include airport-assessed passenger facility charges of up to $18 roundtrip and a federal tax of $2.75 per takeoff and landing. Tickets are nonrefundable, but unused tickets may be applied toward the purchase of future travel on Southwest. Seats are limited and may not be available on some flights that operate during peak or holiday travel times, such as Memorial Day and Independence Day. Fares are subject to change until ticketed, and any change in itinerary could result in an increase in the fare. Fares are not necessarily common rated in Houston, the San Francisco Bay area, or the Los Angeles Basin area. Orange County's John Wayne Airport and Houston Intercontinental Airport are not included in this sale. By booking reservations on Southwest's Web site, Customers also can earn double flight credit in the airline's frequent flyer program, Rapid Rewards, for each ticket purchased.
Members need accumulate only 16 flight credits within 12 consecutive months to earn a free ticket anywhere Southwest flies. Normally this would require eight roundtrip flights, but Customers who book online can earn the credit in half the time.
