Popular "Name Your Room Rate" Is Back Again at Wisconsin's Heidel House Resort
The popular "Name Your Own Room Rate" offer is back again at the family-friendly Heidel House Resort in Green Lake, Wisconsin, and the phones are ringing with people making offers.
"We've discovered something people really get into", said George Kalka, director of sales at Heidel House Resort. "We tried this idea last season in the Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago areas. Once word started getting out that we were letting people call in and - within reason - name their own rates, the phones started ringing.
Kalka said the way it works is simple: A consumer can call toll free, 800-444-2812 and make a 'reasonable offer' for any room. The resort will decide whether to accept the offer. Many visitors stop at the web site first to check out other packages and offers - then phone in. The program is currently set to run through the end of the year.
