Celebrate Christmas in Canada at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise
Yule love The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise during the annual 12-day Festival of Christmas. Dozens of complimentary Christmas activities for the entire family are scheduled from Dec. 22 to Jan. 3. Activities include skating parties, cross-country skiing, an outdoor Christmas pageant with live animals, carolling, a scavenger hunt, cooking classes, ice-carving demonstrations and daily children's activities.
Professional children's entertainers, Jackie Frost and her elves, lead Winter Wonderland activities for three to 12-year old elves in training, including a production of Twas the Night Before Christmas, nightly bedtime stories, a visit from Santa, two dazzling New Year's parties and an elves "Playland" stocked with toys, crafts and games. There's an Internet room and regular movie nights, as well as Kids' Etiquette classes, babysitting and pet-minding available. Adults can select from Christmas feasts to themed buffets and special events, including a Monte Carlo night, Western Hoe-down, Afternoon Tea Dance, or the gala New Year's Ball.
The halls are decked with scarlet red poinsettias, staircase banisters are draped with green garland and a two-story Christmas tree greets guests in the lobby. Join in on tidings of comfort and joy and sing a few carols with the orchestra, roaming musicians and opera singers in the lounges and lobbies. Experience the charm of a traditional old-fashioned Christmas in the Rockies with a historic hotel tour to learn about the explorers who traveled by snowshoe, horses and wooden skis through the Lake Louise wilderness, a place dubbed "The Land of a Million Christmas Trees."
