Toronto Offers Great Packages and Winter Family Events
In December, Toronto will be the scene of "Cavalcade of Lights", a stunning collection of free holiday events. New this year is the "Weekends of Wonder", a festive celebration every Friday and Saturday evening December 5 -20 in Nathan Phillips Square. "Weekends of Wonder" features light shows, musical performances, seasonal wares in the Cavalcade of Lights Marketplace and family skating parties hosted by Toronto's favorite radio stations. Toronto is also launching a new winter festival, WinterCity, running from January 30-February 12. This 14-day celebration will feature stellar free indoor and outdoor programming, restaurant promotions and discounts at Toronto attractions. Part of WinterCity is the "Cool Kids Series", with live stage show performances by kid favorites such as Sesame Street's Elmo and Grover, the Emmy Award winning Kratt Brothers, Babar the Elephant and many others.
Toronto's restaurant promotion "Winterlicious" returns as part of WinterCity. Eighty of the city's top restaurants are participating with three-course prix fixe menus available for lunch ($10 or $20 CDN) and dinner ($20 or $30 CDN). A WinterCity Passport offers discounts such as 20 percent and 2-for-1 admission to attractions such as the CN Tower, Casa Loma, and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
