CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS AT THE HISTORIC JEKYLL ISLAND CLUB
From November 30 through December 23, 2003, families can celebrate the Christmas holidays in style at Georgia's historic Jekyll Island Club Hotel. Details on this package are as follows:
Rates: $119.00 double occupancy, per night, taxes and resort fee extra,
subject to availability, or $109.00 single occupancy, per night, taxes and resort fee extra, subject to availability.
Package features: Traditional accommodations, (King or Double/Double), Full
breakfast in our Grand Dining Room, and a Christmas Stocking filled with goodies
(one per person in room).
While visiting the Jekyll Island Club Hotel, families can take in the joys of Jekyll's Holiday Island, a festival of events which fills days and evenings with merriment throughout the month of December. December 4, 5:00 p.m.
Candlelight Tour and Reception
The historic Jekyll Island Club Hotel opens its doors to the community for a Candlelight Tour of this Historic Hotel of America. Guests will tour the Hall of Mirrors, public rooms, and the Grand Dining Room decorated for the season. Following the tour is a reception where the guide answers questions
about this National Historic Landmark.
December 5, 6:30 p.m.
Feast of St. Nicholas, A Porgressive Dinner Amidst the Landmarks
A movable holiday feast, with stops at three beautifully decorated historic
cottages in Jekyll Island's National Historic Landmark District as well as
the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. For reservations: 1-877-4JEKYLL.
December 7, 2:00 p.m.
A Harp Concert by Kathleen Bride
Professor of Harp at the Eastman School of Music and world class concert
artist, Kathleen Bride performs a concert of classical and traditional harp
music at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel that is exquisitely beautiful.
December 9, 4:00 p.m.
Holly High Tea
Tea sandwiches, savories and scones followed by an assortment of petite
pastries accompany a variety of international teas at High Tea in the
Riverview Room of the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. Live holiday music will
accompany the experience.
December 11, 1:30 p.m.
"Chef's Delights" Demonstration
The Chef of the Jekyll Island Club Hotel demonstrates the preparation of
several dishes, serves a generous tasting of each, and receives questions
and comments from the audience. Printed recipes are provided.
December 12, 7:30 p.m.
"A Dickens Feast," Dinner Theatre Style
Enjoy a holiday feast and dinner theatre presentation, based on Charles
Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," in the Grand Dining Room at the Jekyll Island
Club Hotel.
December 14, 2:00 p.m.
Festival of the Bells
The Chancel Ringers of St. Simons Island, eleven bell ringers of great
talent and enthusiasm, perform a concert of seasonal and traditional music
especially arranged for bells. Jekyll Island Club Hotel.
December 16, 4:00 p.m.
Holly High Tea
Tea sandwiches, savories and scones followed by an assortment of petite
pastries accompany a variety of international teas at High Tea in the

December 17, 7:30 p.m.
Storytelling Round the Hearth
Two outstanding tellers, Jim Bentley and Sudy Leavy, gather their audience
'round the hearths at Crane Cottage in this timeless tradition--- to share
the stories that give life meaning. Jekyll Island Club Hotel.
December 18, 7:30 p.m.
A "Quartet of Saxophones" Concert
Students and faculty of the Music Department of the University of Georgia
play a concert of unusual classical pieces and a Christmas medley at the
Jekyll Island Club Hotel.
December 20, 7:30 p.m.
The Music of the Renaissance
Dressed in costumes of velvets and brocades, playing instruments of the
Renaissance period, and singing the pavannes and madrigals of ancient times,
this group of talented musicians performs music of the past.
December 22, 7:30 p.m.
Chamber Ensemble and Choir of Flutes Concert
The Stewart-Law Chamber Ensemble and the Flute Choir perform a concert of
holiday music and traditional pieces at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel.
December 24, 4:30 p.m.
Caroling on Christmas Eve
The community and travelers from far and near are invited to a Christmas Eve
carol sing accompanied by the Jekyll Island Chamber Ensemble and led by the
inimitable Tom Sarcona. Refreshments.
December 25, various times
Christmas Feasting
Celebrate Christmas Day with a meal at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. Brunch
in the Grand Dining Room, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Traditional buffet in the
Ballroom, noon to 6:00 PM. Christmas Dinner in the Ballroom, 5:30 to 10:00
PM. (Set menu, jackets required for gentlemen.) Reservations:
