Miami's Parrot Jungle Island Offers Family Packages
It's been two decades since the last reported occasion of an orangutan giving birth to twins. Parrot Jungle Island is proud to introduce its new V.I.P.'s (Very Important Primates) and invites the world to come see the baby orangutans in their new nursery habitat at the park. The twin girls were born on December 2, 2003 and currently weigh seven and eight pounds respectively.
Parrot Jungle Island is holding a summer long "Bird Day" celebration, honoring the park's one year anniversary at its new location. As a special "Bird Day" gift, Parrot Jungle Island is offering all guests the opportunity to upgrade their regular one-day pass to the "Summer-long Bird Day Bash" pass for just $5 more per person, and receive free admission to the park for the rest of the summer. Tickets are available for purchase throughout the season (June 21 through September 22).
There is so much more to see at the new Parrot Jungle Island including nature displays, new animals such as Bengal tigers, orangutans, Malaysian bear cats, Arctic wolves, Komodo dragons, alligator snapping turtles and Crocosaurus, the largest captive crocodile in North America that measures nearly 20 feet in length and weighs more than 2,000 pounds. Beautiful parrots, exotic birds from the world over and Parrot Jungle Island's world famous bird shows are still very much a part of the park.
