Sheraton Maui Resort Offers Special Package for Families
The Sheraton Maui Resort is offering a "Boats, Trains & Poolside Games", a package designed with families in mind, through December 25, 2004. Guests who purchase "Boats, Trains & Poolside Games" receive three nights in an Ohana Family Suite; daily breakfast buffet for two adults and two children under 12; four (two adults and two children under 12) roundtrip passes on the Sugar Cane Train; a picnic snorkel cruise for two adults and two children under 12; and a poolside amenity pack including snacks and pool toys. Three night package price including activities is $2,413, inclusive of tax and resort charge.
Sheraton Maui sits on the legendary Pu`u Keka`a at Ka`anapali Beach on the island of Maui. Sprawled over 23 acres of tropical landscaping, 83 percent of the hotel's 510 rooms and suites face the ocean. This resort provides large rooms for families. The 660-square foot Family Suites are designed with: three beds - two double beds and one pull-down double wall bed; a sitting room with a full-sized couch and two sofa chairs; two television sets; two connecting lanais with lounge chairs and tables. The spacious Ohana Suite bathroom offers two showers, one with a bathtub and a showerhead that can be lowered for your smaller family members, two sinks, blow dryer, makeup mirror and countless number of towels. And, since the keiki (children) aren't always the ones to fall asleep first, a room divider is hidden neatly in the middle of the room, easily closed to create two rooms and privacy. A mini-refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker, island coffee and tea finish off the final touches for a perfect guestroom experience.
The "Boats, Trains, and Poolside Games" package includes a number of activities that families enjoy. The Sheraton Maui is home to the fastest, largest, newest vessel in Ka`anapali, the Teralani 2, operating beachfront of the hotel on Ka`anapali Beach. The Teralani's four-hour Picnic Snorkel Cruise takes passengers to secret diving locations vibrant with oceanlife. The cruise includes a deli-style lunch, snacks and a refreshment bar. Teralani 2 joins the original Teralani Catamaran in offering hours of ocean adventure for the entire family.
With a blast of its steam whistle, the locomotive chugs along a six-mile stretch of track, delighting parents and children alike. The "Sugar Cane Train" has traveled the route from Pu`ukoli`i (just north of Ka`anapali) to Lahaina for over 30 years transporting visitors to and from the resort area to the shopping and dining mecca of Lahaina town. The Sugar Cane Train crosses a 325-foot curved wooden trestle elevating the locomotive for passengers to enjoy spectacular views of neighboring islands and the West Maui Mountains while singing conductors recite stories and songs of old Hawaii.
Lush tropical foliage enhances Sheraton Maui's 142-yard lagoon-style pool. Children will enjoy the Keiki wading pool, while Mom and Dad refresh with a cool tropical drink from the oceanfront Lagoon Bar. The "Boats, Trains & Poolside Games" package provides keiki with a pool pack perfect for enjoyment at the pool or beach. Pool basketball and lawn croquet add to the activities for the day.
