Country Music Stars Take To The High Seas

By Nancy Schretter, Editor

Music theme cruises are a popular option with today's vacationers - and for good reason. Cruise guests have the opportunity to attend live concerts, late night parties and small jam sessions with their favorite stars while sailing to some of the most beautiful destinations in the world. Now, some of country music's hottest names are giving their fans the opportunity to get up close and personal this year on an exciting cruise to the Eastern Caribbean.

Star of the blockbuster hit NBC show, "The Voice," handsome Blake Shelton continually heats up the country music world with his chart-topping smash singles. His latest album, Red River Blue - featuring hit singles like "Honey Bee," "God Gave Me You" and "Drink On It," ranked #1 on Billboard's charts. Blake is the winner of the Country Music Association's Male Vocalist of the Year and was named Male Vocalist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards and Favorite Country Male Artist at the American Music Awards. In October, this smoldering hot country star is setting sail on Norwegian Cruise Line with more than 20 of his entertainer friends and fans are invited to come along.

The Blake Shelton Cruise will be held on October 14-21, 2012 on Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Pearl. The entertainment lineup for this country music event is simply amazing. Blake will give two live concerts on the cruise and live performances will also be given by the other country music stars as well. Blake's special guest on this voyage is Trace Adkins, one of America's top country music artists with over 20 Billboard country music hit singles to his name. His songs include such perennial favorites as "You're Gonna Miss This," "Ladies Love Country Boys," and "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk." Accompanying Blake and Trace are Jerrod Niemann, Easton Corbin, Neal McCoy, Lee Brice, Randy Houser, McKenna Faith, Frankie Ballard, Brett Eldredge, Jana Kramer, Tyler Farr, Brinley Addington, Chris Cavanaugh, Chuck Wicks, JJ Lawhorn, Logan Mize, HER and Kings Country, Joanna Smith, Maggie Rose, Clayton Anderson, Brandon and Leah, Rae Lynn, and Nik and Sam.

Guests on the Blake Shelton Cruise will enjoy live country music each evening including a nightly show in the Stardust Theater and performances around the ship by Blake's country music guest entertainers. Passengers will also enjoy late night parties, Q&A sessions, song writer workshops, and surprise unplugged performances and jam sessions by the great country music singers on this cruise. In addition, guests can participate in "The Challenge," a "search for the best voice on the ship contest judged by the pros." Aspiring solo artists - this sounds like a great opportunity to show what you've got.

The Blake Shelton Cruise is a complete charter of the Norwegian Pearl and features a custom itinerary including some of the Caribbean's hottest ports of call. The ship will sail from Miami, Florida on a 7-night cruise to San Juan, St. Thomas, Tortola, and Nassau with two full days at sea. On sea days, guests can bask in the sun while listening to their favorite tunes and take time to explore all that the Norwegian Pearl has to offer. This popular Norwegian Cruise Line ship is packed with 16 dining options, 13 bars and nightclubs, pools and waterslides, kids and teens programs in dedicated age-appropriate clubs, the Mandara Spa, Body Waves Fitness Center, a four-lane bowling alley, and much more.

While in Caribbean ports, guests will have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of captivating shore excursions. These include exploring the best of Tortola and Virgin Gorda, swimming and snorkeling at "The Baths," visiting Trunk Bay on St. John - named one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, casting off on a catamaran sail to Buck Island near St. Thomas, touring San Juan and the Bacardi Distillery, and playing at the Atlantis Resort while in Nassau. Guests can book these excursions and others to fully experience the Caribbean on their vacation and get the most out of this musical cruise extravaganza.
