Resort Overview: Vail is one of the most popular resorts in North America. They offer guests an Alpine-style resort that is pedestrian friendly. It is located just 100 miles west of Denver. This is a fabulous year-round resort for the whole family. Their website has a special icon next to all of their family-friendly activities. Vail Resort's slogan is "So Much Mountain, So Little Time"...discover it for yourself.

Accommodations: Vail offers guests more than 150 lodging options. The Lodge at Vail is a ski-in/ski-out hotel with 117 hotel rooms and condos. The Vail Cascade Hotel and Club has 289 deluxe guest rooms and 63 condos from one to four bedrooms. The Vail Athletic Club Hotel and Spa has 118 hotel guest rooms and condos ranging from studios to penthouses. The Lion Square Lodge offers lodge rooms and one, two and three bedroom condos. Marriott's Mountain Resort at Vail has 350 guest rooms including 50 condos and suites. Cool Deals are available on their website.

Restaurants: There are many dining options at Vail, including 24 on-mountain and base-area restaurants. Game Creek Club features a contemporary American menu. Reservations are required. Bellariva Restaurant serves Northern Italian food. The open kitchen with woodburning pizza ovens, rotisseries and grills is something for the kids to see. Two Elk Restaurant features Southwestern soups, stews, chili and has a great salad bar. There are plenty of pizza places and other fast food favorites located throughout the resort.

Children's Programs: Vail's Small World Play School is for non-skiing children 2 months to 6 years old. It is open daily from 8am-4:30pm. They have indoor and outdoor activities. Parents are given pagers so they can be contacted. Full-day sessions are $70 and half-day sessions are $55. During the winter, Vail opens the Children's Ski and Snowboard School. Programs are divided by age groups (3 years-Kindergarten; MiniMice; MogulMice; Super Stars; and 6-14 year olds)

Golf: Vail resorts feature 180 holes of golf. The Beaver Creek Golf Club was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, this 18 hole, par 70 course requires lots of finesse and strategy. Cordillera Resort is now offering the premier mountain golf experience in America this summer. Cotton Ranch is Pete Dye's 18 hole championship course. Eagle-Vail, this course, designed by Bruce Devlin and Bob Von Hagge, is long, narrow and mountainous with some incredible scenery. Sonnenalp is an 18 hole, par 71 course designed by GolForce, headed by Jack Nicklaus. Vail Golf Club is an 18 hole, par 71 course overlooks the beautiful Gore Range.

Tennis: Vail's Tennis Center has 8 outdoor clay courts. There are 30 indoor and outdoor courts at hotels and clubs around the resort.

Skiing: Vail has 174 trails and 31 lifts.

Other Activities and Amenities: Other activities that Vail offers are Adventure Ridge that has tubing, ice skating, laser tag, snowmobile tours, and ski-bike clinic. Dog sledding, bobsledding and hot air ballooning are also available. In warm weather, mountain biking, hiking, fly-fishing and whitewater rafting are great ways to spend time.
