All aboard for a 22-mile trip through the beautiful Des Moines River Valley. The Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad will take passengers on an exciting journey. The trip features crossing over the highest tressle in the United States - the 156' high 784' long tressle over Bass Creek - for a breathtaking view of the river valley. The trip also includes a visit to the Iowa Railway Museum.

2004 Fares:

Trains run daily from Memorial Day weekend though October 31, 2004. Fares are: $14 for adults and $5 for children 3-12. Children under 3 are free when held in the arms of a parent. Valley View Car is $18 for adults and $7 for kids 3-12. Caboose rides are $20 for adults and $10 for children 3-12. Reservations are required for Dessert trains that are available for $25 for all ages and Dinner trains that are avaliable for $50 for all ages. On weekdays, the diesel train leaves the station at 1:30pm. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, trains depart at 1:30pm and at 4pm.

Trolley Rides

The trolley runs on weekends Memorial Day through October from 10am until 4pm. The price of a ticket is $2.00 for riders ages 13 and above. Kids under 13 ride free of charge.
